Carers Week (Mon 5th June to Sun 11th June 2023) is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the huge contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
If you live in Pembrokeshire and recognise yourself as an unpaid carer, or know someone who does, there is support available:
- Young Carers Service delivered by Action for Children – 01437 761 330
- Pembrokeshire Carers Information and Support Service (PCISS) delivered by Adferiad – 01437 611002 / [email protected]
As part of carers week there will be a range of free activities across the county for carers such as:
- Carers Event at Scolton Manor with a tour of the garden and house. Wed 7th June, 10.30am – 4.00pm.
- Find the Community Hub and Connectors in Haverfordwest Cstle Square for information and advice about what’s on in the community, as well as support to get online.
- Workways + will be offering carers a free hot drink and cake in their cafes The Meads Leisure Centre, Milford Haven; Café No.5, Haverfordwest and Edie’s tearoom, Scolton Manor – just show your carers ID badge.
- Carers Afternoon Tea in St David’s Rugby Clwb, Wed 7th June, 12noon – 4pm. Free parking and free buffet lunch. To book call Gill 01348 831434.
