We are delighted to have won the Association of Plumbing & Heating (APHC) Contractors ‘Diversity and Inclusion Champion’ sponsored by Bristan Award.
Organised by APHC annually, the week aims to raise awareness of the skills within the plumbing and heating industry whilst shining a spotlight on the many plumbing businesses that play a vital part in our communities across the UK.
With just seven award categories and up against some fierce competition, ateb are honoured to have been chosen as their Diversity and Inclusion Champion for 2023.
Plumbing Team Supervisor Tom Clode explains:
“At ateb Group, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) is part of our DNA. Over the last 18 months there has been a real push to improve and evolve our ED&I approach, including the launch of our ED&I Delivery Plan. We have also signed the Tai Pawb Deeds Not Words pledge to end racial inequality in housing”.
“Our plumbing and heating apprentice, Libby Montgomery, was originally placed with ateb through the Cyfle Shared Apprenticeship scheme and last year we decided to directly employ her as an ateb apprentice. Libby is a great asset to ateb and can have a great future here, and our customers love her!”
“Women are generally under-represented in trade roles, and we believe that we have a duty to help break the mold and create new ways for society to think about women in trades. To achieve this, women have to see women working in these professions”.
The plumbing and heating industry is just one of many sectors that the work of ateb Group touches on, but we are proud that our teams adopt the same inclusivity across the board.
We are super proud to be supporting women in industry and especially Libby with her journey from apprentice to fully qualified plumbing and heating engineer. Well done Tom, Libby, Dan P, Stefan, Liam, Matthew, Patrick, Lewis and Dan C.
