ateb Hosts Community Fun Day in Steynton

Last week, ateb hosted an engaging and lively community fun day at Plas Peregrine, Pen Puffin and Stryd Shearwater in Steynton, Pembrokeshire.

This event, part of the “Engage to Improve” (E2i) community initiative, attracted over 60 ateb customers along with a variety of ateb team members and partner organisations.

The fun day provided a fantastic opportunity for customers to interact directly with the ateb teams and address their concerns face-to-face. One customer fed back to Daria one of our Housing Coordinators, “It was fantastic to be able to speak to the staff of specific departments and discuss our concerns directly with the people working in those fields.”

External providers also participated in the event, offering a variety of services and support. One provider commented, “We’re here and ready to help; it’s just getting that message out to the people that’s difficult.” This highlights the importance of events like these in making valuable services more accessible to the community.

The day was packed with diverse activities and services, including:

  • Sporting activities
  • PCC Recycling service
  • Mental health support
  • Numeracy support
  • Career and job-search advice
  • Wood-craft demonstrations
  • Tug-of-war
  • Fire service and community police engagement
  • Youth Service initiatives
  • Public Health information
  • Transport Connectors
  • Family Connector support

Customers enjoyed a range of activities and despite the rain, the atmosphere remained exceptionally positive, with everyone showing fantastic community spirit. The amazing food by the Bearded Chefs and buffet provided by the community helped a lot too!

We are looking forward to hosting more community fun days and helping our communities connect with eachother and discovering what support is available to them.
