We are really pleased to announce that Ali has recently won the best Welsh Workplace Learner Award at a ceremony in Aberystwyth organised by Aberystwyth University. Ali was recognised for her determination to learn a new language and to use it at every opportunity in the workplace, ateb were commended for their support to Ali.

“I started learning Welsh as an adult because ateb ran welsh lessons in the lunch hour, and, when I first started working here, I was asked to join the class.

The reason why I entered the competition was because we’re a social housing organisation who daily encourage our customers to contact us via any means suited to them, for example, text, email, Facebook, letter, in person, on the phone etc so, to me, as the Customer Engagement Co-ordinator, it just made sense to be able to offer a communication line in Welsh as well.” – Ailinor Evans
