Llys Dewi wins Best Communal Garden and more, in ateb’s annual Gardening Competition

We are thrilled to announce that Llys Dewi in St Davids has claimed three top awards in this year’s ateb Annual Gardening Competition: Best Communal Garden, Most Improved Garden, and Best Kept Outdoor Space. Led by the passionate efforts of Jim Saul and the community at Llys Dewi, their dedication has transformed the garden into a vibrant, welcoming space for all tenants to enjoy.

When presented with the prize, Jim said, “I’m shocked, I can’t believe it, this is so great, I’ll put the plaque up straight away!”

The Llys Dewi community has worked tirelessly to create a green space that not only enhances the visual appeal of the area but also fosters a sense of togetherness among residents. Their efforts have made the garden a place for tenants to relax and enjoy the outdoors, with raised beds, bee-friendly planting, and accessible tubs that create a visually stimulating and eco-friendly environment.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Llys Dewi has been awarded over £175 worth of vouchers and a plaque to proudly display on their property.

The judges were impressed, commenting on the “fantastic variety in terms of shape, colour, and species, all packed very sensitively into a well-cared-for and well-presented space. Beautiful borders, accessible tubs, and lovely raised beds make it a peaceful and tranquil garden that is not only visually stunning but also bee and eco-friendly.”

ateb’s annual gardening competition celebrates the communities and customers who go the extra mile to make their garden spaces both beautiful and functional. The competition highlights the importance of green spaces for promoting well-being, community spirit, and sustainability.
