Connecting with Customers in Pembroke Dock

Last week, we were back out in our communities as part of another ateb walkabout, aimed at connecting with our communities and finding out what is important to them – this time at Penfro Place in Pembroke Dock.

Our Housing Coordinators joined the event, speaking to customers about how we can work together to improve community spirit and engagement within the street. As always, it was a great opportunity to check in, offer support and find out what matters most to our customers.

We were also joined by some of our team from across ateb. Andrew, our Community Welfare Coordinator, came along with Dot.e – our mobile digital hub – offering free digital support, guidance and advice to anyone who needed it.

Ali, our Engage Coordinator, was on hand to speak to customers about how they can get more involved with ateb – including joining our customer forum, sharing feedback through surveys, or even shaping our services through our e2i programme. You can find out more about how you can have your say and get involved on our e2i webpage.

As always, these days are just as much about conversations as they are about cleaning up. While out and about, we met Danny – one of our customers who volunteers teaching Martial Arts at Tenby Leisure Centre and is a friendly face in the local community.

“I see the value in doing these days as everyone tends to keep themselves to themselves,” said Danny. “By doing this today we might encourage others to get involved and meet new people. It would be great to improve our community spirit here. I would also love to see Housing Coordinators knocking on our doors once or twice a year to check in on customers and just say hello. I think this would improve how we feel as ateb customers.”

As part of our commitment to building stronger relationships with our communities, we’re increasing the number of neighbourhood walkabouts we do. We’re aiming to carry out at least nine each quarter – one in every Housing Coordinator’s patch – with plans to do even more as the programme develops. These visits will help us connect with areas where customers may face challenges or where we haven’t had as much recent contact, giving us the chance to listen, support and make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day – whether you came along for advice, a chat, or to lend a hand. We look forward to more of these events as we continue to support stronger, more connected communities.
