Radon is a radioactive gas produced from minerals in the soil, such as uranium and radium. It’s everywhere and only becomes an issue when high levels are present.

We aim to test our homes at least every 5 years and are currently working through the first cycle of properties.

To test our homes we install a small monitor (it fits in the palm of your hand) that needs to collect readings for at least three months. These are then sent off to a laboratory (we use RPW Radon Wales) for analysis.

If levels are too high there are some simple things we can do to help, such as an extraction fan or improved ventilation.
