BT is starting to travel around Wales to tell people about the digital switchover this coming April, and begin the tour at Riverside Library in Haverfordwest. They will be there on Wednesday 3rd April, from 10 am to 2 pm.
Here are some dates and times for other events happening across West Wales.
What is the Digital Switchover?
The UK is making a big change to its telephone system, similar to when they switched from old-style TV to digital about 10 years ago. This time, it’s the phone network going digital, and the government and telecoms industry have set a deadline – the old copper network will be turned off by the end of 2025.
If you have a landline and want to keep using it, this change will affect you.
Soon, all landlines will work through the internet instead of the old copper wires. It’s really important that people who rely on their landline get prepared for this change and don’t have a break in service.
