In a continued effort to make community spaces more inclusive and accessible, St. Davids City Council recently collaborated with West Wales Care & Repair, a subsidiary of ateb Group to improve the Community Zone located at the back of City Hall. Recognising the need for improved access, especially for those with mobility challenges, West Wales Care & Repair took proactive steps to ensure the facility could be enjoyed by all.
Mike and Louis led the project, working hard over several weeks – come rain or shine! Their dedication has paid off with a new access ramp that makes getting into the Community Zone much easier, ensuring it can be fully enjoyed by local residents and visitors alike.
Simon Mann, Clerk added “We are thrilled with the new ramp which has made a real improvement to our accessibility at the rear of the hall. It’s been really noticeable when we hold coffee mornings how much of a difference it’s made, especially for those that use frames or walking aids.”
This project shows what can happen when local organisations work together with a shared passion for inclusivity. The new ramp isn’t just about improving access—it’s about making sure that everyone, no matter their mobility, can take part in community life.
